The End Result

“They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will have no end.” –Psalm 102:26-27

In the end God will reign. In the end God will win and the enemy will be destroyed. This is such a simple truth and such a basic teaching that the importance is sometimes forgotten.

It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are right now and it doesn’t matter what the world looks like right now – God will come out victorious in the end. What a great joy we have! We don’t have to become afraid when things look bleak because we know that God is always victorious.

Sometimes I can get frustrated with the lies of the enemy; I can get to the point where I want to fight the enemy in my own strength. Sometimes I can get weary with all the tactics and battles in this world; I even get depressed when it seems like nothing will ever change.

But the reason I become discouraged and weary is because I forget that God is in control and in the end He will destroy every work of the devil! The end result is His kingdom! The end result is He will be glorified! The end result is EVERY lie of the enemy will be exposed! Every demon will be bound! And every knee (this excludes no one!!!) will bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

The end result is far more real than what we endure at the present. It’s like the last chapter in the novel – everything else is just a precursor to that chapter. Everything is resolved (unless you’re reading a poorly written novel :)) everything is set right, and all the previous troubles are forgotten or taken care of.

The last chapter in the history of our world is very similar. Every tear will be wiped away. Every bad guy will be punished. Every prayer will be answered. And this old world will be changed out for a new one. Every evil thing that has shown itself will be destroyed. Hallelujah! Praise His name forever and ever! What a great God we serve! What great mercy He has bestowed on us! O, worship His name!

“Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” – 2 Peter 3:11-13.

So don’t get discouraged and weary; don’t lose heart; don’t get caught up in this world with what it thinks and what it says; don’t lose sight of the prize. The end result it total and complete victory.
